My 2025 Goals - Met and Unmet

January 2, 2025

About a year ago, I made a list of all the things I wanted to accomplish in the year 2025, and some of these goals I met, and some of them I did not even come close to meeting. Though, I will say, (sorry Baby) pregnancy did throw a wrench in some of these goals. Here is my list and wether or not I accomplished them:

  • have the first draft of a book finished - unfortunately, this was for sure not completed, though I do want to take this into the new year. there were months that I was trucking along and doing a great job, and then there were months that I got little to nothing done at all, but I am not giving up on this, just pushing the deadline out a bit

  • get better about stretching more and having more regular movement - getting pregnant this year really forced my hand with this one, rather than something I wanted to do, it became something I had to do in order not to be uncomfortable and also to prepare me for one of the hardest things ( if not the hardest thing ) I will ever do

  • eat seasonally - some seasons I feel like I did this well, and others I felt like I fell a little short here, and I will say, for a portion of the year I was just trying to make sure I was eating, and the seasons had little to no sway over what that was

  • spend more time outside - this is a really vague goal, so I am not sure I can 100% say that I met it, but I did spend a good amount of time outside on walks and hikes and, being that we moved into a home that has a fabulously large yard, time outside either weeding or taking my pup out to play

  • read 40 books - I completed this challenge on November 15, so not with a lot of time to spare, but I am very pleased with myself for reading 40 books in the year

  • get connected - the reason that this is yellow and not red is only because we moved back home and I have spent more time reconnecting with my sisters and old friends, but I will say, the season right before and right after birth are a little difficult to get into groups and develop friendships

  • make clothes for myself - yeah, I did not even kind of complete this. the goal was a dress before summer and a sweater before winter, neither of which I completed

  • spend less time scrolling - another very vague goal, but one that I failed nonetheless. this being said, this year was not the year to not scroll - first trimester was horrid, and nothing really could hold my attention long enough to stop thinking about how horrible I felt all the time, so I may or may not have made myself into a bit of an iPad kid

I am so excited to see what 2026 has in store, and what goals I am able to meet, even while parenting a newborn. Wish me luck!
