Book Review: Enough About The Baby by Becky Vieira

September 29, 2025

This book is deeply insightful and helpful. I already plan on giving this book to my new mom friends.

There are plenty of books about best ways to take care of your newborn, but not enough about how to take care of yourself in the early days of motherhood. With those days quickly approaching for me, I was quite anxious to get my hands on this book and soak up all Becky had to say on the subject. While every mom’s experience is different, her point of view is refreshing and honest. I don’t expect to have the same postpartum and parenting experience as she has had, it is nice to hear that the hard parts ARE hard, but that they are exactly that: parts. One rough day doesn’t make a rough postpartum experience.

In the back of her book she has all kinds of resources such as discussion topics to have with your partner before Baby arrives, hospital packing lists, and how to care for your lady bits. I cannot suggest this book enough to anyone expecting, and while a lot of the book pertains to the person who is going to be giving birth, I think this would also be helpful to families who are adopting fostering a baby as well. It is deeply insightful about the ways that life is going to change in every way, shape, and form.

I cannot suggest this book enough, again, I already plan on giving it to all my friends and family members that become first time parents.
